Junior Journalist Update from Addams – By Abby W.
As we got closer and closer to winter break we got to participate in some fun activities. On Thursday we got to help give back to the community by making or donating items to help those less fortunate than us have a good Christmas. We could donate different canned goods to be able to play fun games, or we could hang with our friends and make food bags or even Christmas cards.
Our very own Sparky the Frog has been spotted going around the school to see which students have been living above the line. So far he and his cousins have been seeing awesome effort put in by the students in their work. He is very happy to see that even though the students can’t wait for break, they can keep it together, get their work done and stay focused.
Aside from the work side of school, the students in band, orchestra, and choir worked really hard to get ready for their performances. They all had their school assembly performances along with a parent performance. The orchestra did an amazing job with their parent performance on Dec. 13. Seventh and eighth graders got to show the audience how much they have learned since the beginning of the school year. The choir concert was set for Dec. 18 and the band concert was set for Dec. 19.
District 54’s Junior Journalists are seventh- and eighth-grade students from each of our junior high schools and Lincoln Prairie School who write monthly stories about their building for the District 54 website.
