The Business Operations Department serves the District 54 community through the management of all financial and business operations.
The Community Relations acts as a liaison between the school district and its various stakeholders including students, parents, employees and community members.
The Human Resources Department is responsible for recruiting, screening, and hiring all district employees. The department also oversees many programs including Benefits (health and life insurance, disability), Employee orientation and evaluation, Fingerprinting, Retirement and Verification of Employment.
The Language and Culture Department serves both our English Learner students and our general education students. This department oversees English Learner assessment and the English Learner program, the district’s dual language and immersion programs, world language classes and the Multicultural Parent Advisory Council.
The District 54 Special Education Department provides support for all students by partnering with building teams, parents and the community to ensure all students have access to our core curriculum, equal opportunities for advanced learning and a rigorous pathway of instruction that is responsive to their individual educational needs.
The superintendent oversees all operations of the district including curriculum, instruction, assessment, human resources, business operations, technology, communications and student services. The superintendent reports directly to the Board of Education and is charged with maintaining the mission of the district.
The Department of Teaching and Learning supports the advancement of both students and staff. This team is responsible for the planning and implementation of curriculum, instruction guidelines and professional development.
The Information Technology Department assists in supporting the mission and strategic plan of School District 54 through the appropriate integration and utilization of technology.
District 54’s Transportation Services Department works in conjunction with school personnel, First Student and parents to provide a safe and efficient service.
