Lunch

There are no cafeteria services in District 54 schools, so students must bring their lunches.

The elementary school lunch period is divided between eating and recess. Students should dress for the weather and outdoor play. A lunch supervisor is present at all times and students are expected to follow the school’s normal expectations.

The junior high school lunch periods vary from school to school. Typically, a lunch period is 20 to 30 minutes long. Your school will provide you with the exact times.

For students who wish to buy milk, an annual milk fee will be collected in the school office at the elementary schools. Milk costs 25 cents per carton. Children entering school after the first full day will be charged a prorated fee. Refunds will not be made regardless of when students transfer out of the school. A payment schedule is provided at the time of registration.

At the junior high level, tickets for cartons of milk can be purchased in the school cafeteria during lunch hours and on Information Day in August.

Payment: You can pay for milk in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. Log in and then click the “Payments” menu on the left.

Free Lunch: District 54 provides free lunches and milk for those students unable to pay under the Illinois Free Lunch and Special Milk Programs. Children from households that meet federal guidelines are eligible for free lunch and milk. Visit our Free Lunch page for more information.
