headshot of Cinzia BellarosaDistrict 54 is excited to introduce Cinzia Bellarosa as our new Parent Liaison, a role specifically created to support families who are new to U.S. schools and our district. Cinzia’s mission is to help ease the transition for these families by connecting them with District 54 staff, public agencies, and community resources.

As part of her role, Cinzia meets with families during the language proficiency screening process to learn about the strengths and potential needs of each child. She answers questions about District 54 and shares information about available community resources, including adult ESL courses, food pantries, and immunization clinics.

Cinzia also works closely with building administrators to plan workshops designed to support families in understanding our district’s systems, such as the Parent Portal. Though she’s only been in the role for a short time, the impact of her work is already evident as strong connections between families and District 54 begin to grow. We look forward to seeing Cinzia continue to foster these relationships and help ensure the success of our multilingual learners and their families.

You can read more about Cinzia’s trailblazing start in this new role through the Daily Herald article, “Multilingual parent liaison helps immigrant families settle in to District 54“.
