Join us in welcoming Sri Rajaram to the District 54 School Board. She was appointed by the School Board and took the Oath of Office at the Feb. 19 board meeting.

Sri is filling a vacancy on the Board that was created by the resignation of Barb Hengels on Jan. 7. The board thanked everyone who applied for the position, noting it was difficult to select from many qualified candidates.

“I look forward to working with every board member here and the district superintendent, Mr. DuRoss, ensuring that every student feels they belong here unconditionally and they are able to achieve their fullest potential,” she said.

Sri is a resident of Schaumburg and a mother to a current District 54 student and a District 54 graduate. In addition to volunteering with their school PTA’s, Sri is an active member of the District 54 Education Foundation and has served on its executive board since 2024.

Professionally, Sri is a senior manager of security governance for Motorola Solutions, a company she has worked at for more than 16 years. She holds a master’s degree in computer science and a bachelor’s degree in information technology.

Sri will serve until the next School Board election in April 2027. At that time, she will need to run for re-election to remain on the Board.
