District 54 students are once again preparing to shine at one of our most exciting events of the year – the Michelle I. Burke STEAM Showcase. This year, the event carries even deeper meaning as we honor the legacy of longtime STEM Coach Michelle I. Burke, who recently passed away. Michelle dedicated her career to sparking curiosity and creativity in students and inspiring the next generation of problem-solvers, makers and dreamers and launched the showcase seven years ago.
Join us in celebrating student ingenuity as they share opportunities they have explored in science, technology, engineering, art and math at one of our two STEAM Showcase evenings:

This year’s showcase will feature an incredible variety of student-created projects that blend innovation, creativity and problem-solving. From therapeutic toy designs and fluid power machines to websites and apps tackling real-world issues, students are applying STEAM concepts in meaningful ways. Attendees can explore everything from a student-built anatomically correct skeleton to a chain reaction machine themed as a road trip across the United States, alongside vibrant 2D and 3D artwork, robotics challenges and interactive stations like the Unimaginary Friend creation booth.
We invite families, staff and community members to witness the future – one filled with promise, creativity and a passion for learning.
Let’s come together to celebrate our students and the inspiring educator who helped light the spark.
