Administrative Reports – Future Ready Learning

In District 54, we place a priority on meeting the needs of today’s learners and preparing them for the future. Future-ready learning is defined as instructional practices and strategies that prepare students for success in a rapidly changing world by emphasizing adaptability, innovation, critical thinking, collaboration and the purposeful integration of emerging tools and technologies, such as artificial intelligence, to enhance and personalize student learning experiences. These learning strategies and tools can be used to support personalized learning, administrative efficiency, assistive technology, language translation, content creation and data-informed decision making.

District 54 leadership has been researching future-ready learning practices and policies. Tonight, the School Board approved a new artificial intelligence board policy. The next step will be to develop an AI task force to establish best practices and plan for professional development. Artificial intelligence will never replace educators, but it can empower and assist them to meet the needs of all students.
