Congratulations to Addams Junior High School! Their student teams won all three trophies at the annual District 54 Fluid Power Challenge on December 1. The Ogre Kingdom won Best Machine, the Mighty Ducks won Best Design and the Megaminders won Strongest Work Ethic.

The Fluid Power Challenge is a national competition that challenges students to design and build a mechanism using fluid power, encouraging students to use problem-solving and engineering skills. The event begins with a workshop in October and culminates with the competition this week, during which students used their device to grab, lift and rotate as many objects as they could before time ran out.

While some may have been more successful than others, all students learned the importance of communication, teamwork and perseverance.
