District 54 is proud to share some exciting news from Link Elementary School! Devansh, one of our talented students, recently participated in the prestigious International Academic Competitions (IAC) National Science Bee competition held in Orlando, FL from May 23-26.
Devansh demonstrated outstanding knowledge and skills, finishing as a semifinalist in the 5th grade division of the IAC National Science Bee. This competition, founded by “Jeopardy!” champion David Madden in 2010, aims to encourage learning across various subjects, including history, science, and geography.
The road to nationals was not easy, as participants had to excel in regional qualifying examinations and secure a top 3 spot at the regional level to qualify. Devansh showcased his exceptional abilities by consistently ranking in the top 2 in each of his first 4 preliminary rounds, earning him a well-deserved spot in the playoffs, including the quarter and semifinals.
Although Devansh was eliminated in the semifinals by a narrow margin, his dedication and hard work were evident throughout the competition. We couldn’t be prouder of his commitment to giving his best effort and embracing the learning experience, regardless of the outcome.
Congratulations, Devansh, on your remarkable achievement! Your success serves as an inspiration to all our students, and we look forward to celebrating many more accomplishments with you in the future. Keep shining bright!
