You are invited to be a part of the Multicultural Parent Advisory Council for the 2018-2019 school year!
The goals of MPAC are to:
- Provide programmatic advice and recommendations to the Department of Language and Culture
- Provide leadership and support to families of students in the English learner (EL) program of School District 54
- Serve as a communication link between staff and families of School District 54
- Plan and help implement parent education and involvement activities to support teaching and learning activities of all students in School District 54
Please join us for our first meeting of the school year on September 18th from 6:30-7:30 PM in the Professional Learning Center (524 East Schaumburg Road). Enter through Door C1. Childcare is available for children ages 3-5.
Our topic for this month’s meeting is “ACCESS, MAP, and PARCC: What do they tell me about my child’s learning?” Come hear about the assessments your child will take this school year and discuss ways to stay in contact with your child’s teacher throughout the entire year. You will hear examples and tips from other parents on how to effectively communicate with your child’s teacher.
More information is provided on the MPAC Flyer.
This is a great opportunity to be informed of important educational events happening in School District 54. If you are planning on attending, please complete the information at the bottom of the flyer and return it to your child’s school by September 13th. We look forward to having you join us!
