Dual language students create cards for children in Puerto Rico and Mexico

Some of the cards that students createdIn response to the natural disasters that struck Mexico and Puerto Rico this fall, a number of students attending District 54’s English-Spanish dual language schools wrote letters and cards in Spanish which were mailed to children in communities there. The volunteer project was created because many dual-language students have family or friends in the affected areas. At Link, a parent from Puerto Rico talked with students about the hurricane and shared how much she appreciated them creating the cards. A total of 80 letters and cards were sent.
