As part of its commitment to life-long learning, the Schaumburg Township Council of PTAs (STC) offers scholarships for summer programs/camps to District 54 students currently in kindergarten through seventh grade who wish to broaden their education, talents and experiences. The parent/guardian must be a current PTA member at the school attended by the child applying for the scholarship.

The parent/guardian is responsible for registering their child for the camp/program indicated on the application. Registration is recommended to ensure your child secures a spot in that program. If you wait to see if your child is awarded a scholarship before registering, you run the risk of the program being full or cancelled. Please make sure you register by May 20, 2024. This must be a summer camp or program completed by Labor Day 2024. If the camp/program is cancelled, contact the PTA with an eligible alternative within the same organization.

Children can apply online and attached supporting documents, or print out the pdf file below. If you elect to fill out the printed version, please submit the application packet to the PTA at your child’s school by April 5, 2024. A full and complete application must include all of the items on the final checklist sheet.

Scholarships will be awarded for the full cost of the summer camp/program up to $125. All scholarship checks will be forwarded directly to the summer camp/program. In order to comply with the bylaws of PTA to be “noncommercial, nonsectarian, and nonpartisan” a camp for the purpose of religious instruction may be ineligible for a scholarship. There is a limit of one application per student but multiple students from the same household may apply; and there may potentially be multiple scholarships awarded per household. An individual may not win more than two consecutive years. All candidates will be notified of the committee decision at the beginning of May 2024.

The PTA would love to hear from past Scholarship recipients! Scholarship recipients are encouraged to notify STC describing the benefits of having attended the camp/program for which the scholarship was received.

Please note this program is not the same, nor is it affiliated with the District 54 Education Foundation Memorial Grant program.
