Spanish Speech Contest winners announced

MacArthur School hosted the second annual district-wide Spanish Speech Contest in May. The competition is open to any District 54 student in third through eighth grade.
More than 80 students entered from several schools, both native speakers of Spanish and speakers of Spanish as a second language submitted speeches to the competition. Eighteen students were selected as finalists and presented their speeches on a variety of topics to our guest judges who then asked them several questions in Spanish.
Spanish as a Second Language grades 3-4

“The students were amazing,” MacArthur Principal Danette Meyer said. “We are hopeful to see many more applicants from all District 54 schools next year.”
